Monday, September 6 is Labour Day. There are labour day festivities taking place all across Ontario. See below to find out what is taking place in your community. More cities will be posted soon.
Brantford
Labour Day in Brantford begins with a 40-year tradition of holding a soap box derby for kids at 9:00 am on Icomm Drive by the OLG Casino Brantford. Activities will move to the Brant District Labour Centre on 1100 Clarance St. S. where paraders will march to Brando's on Market St. with a BBQ, drinks, listen to music from a union band and guest speakers.

Goderich
Unlike other Labour Day events throughout Ontario, Goderich's labour day is on Saturday September 4. The parade will begin a 11:00 am at Goderich Square and will march to Lions Park for a free BBQ. There will be games for kids, prizes and Motorcycle Show! Music will be performed by the Seaforth All Girls Band. For more information call 519-524-5221 or 519-524 5036.

Hamilton
Hamilton’s Labour Day Parade will begin at 10:30 am, but make sure you arrive at 10:00 am before the march starts. The parade begins at York Blvd & Locke St N, and proceeds to Dundurn Park, where they will be a picnic. There will be cultural dancers, drummers and other entertainment for the kids. Kitchener-Waterloo
Picnic in the Park! The fun begins from noon all the way to dusk where there will be free rides, games, balloons, face painting, music and so much more! For more information call 519-743-8301.

Labour Day Picnic at Thames Park from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

North Bay
The North Bay & District Labour Council will be holding a Labour Day Family Picnic from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on the North Bay waterfront. This picnic will feature a BBQ, inflatable rides, a Parade of Flags, Shriners & Legion pipes & drums, a train or carousel ride, apollo gymnastics, fish pond & face painting, and music by “Johnny Cash” & Harley Renaud.
Port Hope
Northumberland's Labour Day celebrations will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Carpenters Hall on 459 Croft St. in Port Hope. There will be music, clowns, face-painting, jumping castles, food, and a book sale. For more information call 905-885-4511 x 2271.
Ottawa
Join SEIU in our march to celebrate labour in our community! Gather at Ottawa City Hall, located on Elgin St. & Lisgar St. before noon. We’ll march to McNabb Park where there will be a picnic from 1:00 – 4:30 pm. The picnic is expected to be a great day of family fun for everyone. And it’s FREE! There will be live music, hot dogs, corn on the cob, balloons, pony rides, games, face painting, drinks, clowns, moon bounce and so much more! For more information call 613-233-7820.
Peterborough
The Peterborough & District Labour Council will be holding its 20th annual Labour Day BBQ Picnic with music by Smokehouse Trio, prize draws and other fun activities.
The picnic BBQ is at Nicholl's Oval Park Pavillion, on the corner of Parkhill Road East and Armour Road.

Toronto
All participants should meet at 8:00 a.m. at University Avenue and Queen Street West in Toronto. Look for the SEIU Local 1 Canada purple flags, vans and purple T-Shirts. The Parade proceeds along Queen Street West then south on Dufferin Street and ends at the Exhibition Place.
Bring Family and Friends!!!
All participants will receive a wristband that gives free entry to Exhibition Place.

Sarnia
The parade starts 9:30 at Wellington St & Christina St S. About 55 different bargaining units will march and about 5,000 people will participate. For more information call 519-542-2375.

St. Catharines
The Labour Day parade in Merritton begins at 11:00 am but you need to be by 9:00 am so you don’t miss the march.
The Route follows Bunting Rd. south to Queenston St. west, then south on Hartzel Rd. to Seymour St. east to Carnival Grounds at the Merritton Community Centre.

Thunder Bay
Thunder Bay Labour Day fun begins at 12 noon until 3:00 pm at the baseball diamond behind Lakehead Labour Centre. There will be a picnic, hotdogs, pony rides, games for kids, face painting and live entertainment.
Windsor
Parade will start at 10:00 am from 1855 Turner Road to the Fogolar Furlan Club.
